Privacy Policy — Style In

Effective date: September 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Style In ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Style In iOS app (the "App"). Style In is a personal wardrobe and outfit app that lets you photograph your own clothing, organise it into items and looks, and generate garment images from your photos.

If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@styleinapp.com.

1. Who we are

The data controller for your personal data is Style In. The best way to reach us about your data is by email:

2. What data we collect, and why

2.1 Account data

To create and secure your account we collect:

We use this data to authenticate you, keep your account secure, and contact you about your account (for example, verification and password-reset emails).

2.2 Your content

When you use the App you create content, which we store on your behalf:

Your photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage (see Section 4). We use this content only to provide the App's features to you.

2.3 AI "try-off" feature

The App offers a generative "try-off" feature that turns a photo of a worn outfit into separate per-garment images. To produce this result, the relevant image(s) may be sent to a third-party AI image-model provider (OpenAI). We send only what is needed to generate your result. See Section 4 for who this provider is and Section 6 for international transfers. We use this feature only when you ask us to (i.e., when you run a try-off).

2.4 Analytics

We use first-party, privacy-respecting behavioural analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it — for example, which screens are viewed and how far people get through a flow (funnels). This analytics data is keyed to a randomly generated install identifier, not to your name. It helps us diagnose problems and prioritise improvements.

2.5 Purchases

If you buy a premium subscription, the purchase is made through Apple In-App Purchase (StoreKit). Apple processes the payment and we never receive or store your card or payment details. We receive confirmation from Apple of your subscription status so we can unlock premium features.

2.5a Invite a friend

If you use the invite-a-friend program, we store your personal invite code, and — when a friend enters a code — a record of who invited whom, when the code was entered, and when the invited friend saved their first item (that is what earns the inviter’s reward). We also store the extra wardrobe space each of you earned. The invite link and code contain no personal data, and we never see who you share them with. We use this only to run the program and prevent abuse. If either of you deletes your account, the record naming you is deleted with it; the other person keeps the extra space they already earned.

2.6 Push notifications

If you opt in, we send optional push notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs). You can turn these off at any time in iOS Settings or in the App.

3. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

Because the App is available to users in the EU/EEA, we rely on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Purpose Legal basis
Creating and securing your account; storing and showing your content; running features you request (including AI try-off) Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — providing the App you asked for
Sending account, verification, and password-reset emails Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
First-party analytics to maintain and improve the App Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — keeping the App working well, balanced against your privacy through short retention and install-id keying
Optional push notifications Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you opt in and can withdraw at any time
Processing subscriptions Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Meeting legal and tax obligations Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time (see Section 7).

4. Sub-processors and third parties

We use the following service providers ("sub-processors") to run the App. They process data only on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service:

Provider What they do for us Data involved
Apple Sign in with Apple, In-App Purchase (billing), push notifications (APNs) Account identifier/email, subscription status, push tokens
Google Sign-in (Google authentication) Account identifier, email
Resend Sends our transactional email (from styleinapp.com) — verification and password-reset messages Email address
Cloudflare R2 object storage for your photos and derived images; DNS and hosting Your photos and derived images
Render Hosting for our server / backend Account and content data processed by the backend
OpenAI Generative AI image model used for the "try-off" feature The photo(s) you submit for a try-off, sent to generate per-garment images

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos or content to advertise to you.

5. How long we keep your data (retention)

6. Where your data is processed (international transfers)

Some of our providers (Section 4) may process data outside your country, including outside the EU/EEA — for example when your try-off photo is sent to the AI image-model provider, or when data is stored or served from infrastructure in other regions. Where we transfer personal data of EU/EEA users internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where available, the providers' adequacy or certification frameworks. You can contact us for more detail about the safeguards in place.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. For EU/EEA users under the GDPR these include the rights to:

Deleting your account: you can delete your account and its data directly in the App at Settings → Delete account. This erases your data, including your stored photos.

To exercise any other right, email support@styleinapp.com. We will respond within the time required by law.

8. Children

The App is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact support@styleinapp.com and we will delete it.

9. How we protect your data (security)

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to address issues promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
